MY TALLINN
Tallinn' New Markets
Estonian food- and handicraft market on Rotermanni Quarter The summer brings to the Rotermanni Quarter of down town Tallinn an authentic food market. The Rotermanni market is an elegant and clean open market where you can buy goods from wheeled trolleys the old fashioned way. All sellers wear identical scarves and aprons designed by Katrin Kuldma. The market sells Estonian goods from different farms and producers from all over the country. You can expect high quality, organic and fresh meat and fish; pastry and diary produce and seasonal fruit and veg. Up to 20 sellers can be found at the market.
The market specialises on Estonian fish produce. The fish are caught in local waters by local fishermen. Different sea foods are also on offer. After the market closes the market square becomes an open area where you can roam around and discover all things maritime. An information centre for visitors is also planned. |
