Taverns’ history displayed at an exhibition

20.03.2012
Estonian History Museum at the Maarjamäe Palace on the Pirita promenade proudly presents a new exhibition dedicated to the history of taverns opening on March 22.

This exhibition “Poriveski kõrts” (or in English mud-mill tavern) highlights tableware, customs and traditions associated with the taverns during Medieval times. Visitors “meet” the owners, servants and guests of the old taverns and can see the interiors as well as exteriors of the buildings. Rare tavern games also displayed. Exhibition remains open until August 12.

While at the museum, take a look at the main exposition dedicated to Estonia's more recent history or walk in the back garden where Soviet monuments have found their temporary home.

Buses 1A, 5, 8 and 34A leave towards the museum from central city.

Entrance to the museum with Tallinn Card is free.
