Travelling sports fan can breathe a sigh of relief, Tallinn offers lots of ways to see the football Euro Championship on the big screen for free.
Vabaduse Väljak (Freedom Square)
Big screen on the Freedom Square otherwise broadcasting Tallinn’s news in now showing European football games covered by Estonian Television.
From June 8 until July 1 practically all games will be broadcast except the June 14 games (Italy– Croatia and Spain – Ireland).
Seating depends on the games and weather conditions but it will cater for up to 300. There are no seats, but since there is no commercial activity, the public can follow the games from the square’s steps. Game commentary is in Estonian.
Cinema Sõprus is turned into official “Football-sick fans' cinema”. Broadcasts are due on the big screen from June 8 to July 1. Bar open during the games.
In addition, a new film premières at Sõprus Cinema on June 16. The Jury's special prize winner on the Venetian Biennial 2011 Orizzont, a documentary film by Michael Glawogger “Whore's glory” tells stories of the prostitutes.
The exclusive premiere takes place only during the Euro 2012 games.
