Dialogue in the Dark is an experience to discover the unseen, where sighted people are introduced to the world of the blind. The idea couldn't be simpler: small groups of visitors are guided by blind people through a pitch dark exhibition. Sounds, textures, odours and breezes are used to simulate a park, a boat ride or a walk in a city – everyday situations which, without vision, offer a totally new experience. Here the roles are reversed: the sighted participants are taken out of their normal perceptions and everyday routines, while the blind guides retain their orientation and mobility, becoming ambassadors of a culture without images.
